Saturday was Kasen's 2nd Birthday Party!
First we started off the morning with gifts from Mimsy and GP for everyone! Vail t-shirts and stickers!!
After changing into swimsuits and loading up the car it was time to head to Mimi and Jojo's for swimming! We had been hiding Kasen's cake and even took separate cars so he couldn't see it. We finally had the big reveal and he was SOOO excited!
The table was ready to go...after going overboard with food last year and having WAY too much leftover, we decided to keep it a little simpler this year :)
The favor boxes were super cute, but the heat and humidity definitely defeated the tape to keep the boxes closed :(
The best part about our cake is that the top layer was on its own cardboard bottom and was Kasen's very own smash cake!!
After singing Happy Birthday and destroying poor Elmo, it was time to get back to swimming (which was a major help in the cake clean up process!)
Once the party was over, it was time to open presents!!!
Kasen is ceratinly a gift opening master but his sisters are still convinced he needs their help. The kids all did chores at Mimi's house the week before the party to earn money to buy Kasen a present. This proud mommy definitely teared up...I take for granted the support system the kids all have built in by having each other and I know it will take awhile for them to realize how truly lucky they all are to have each other. (It took my sister and 14 years!)
Kasen J. you are the link that connects this whole crazy family together. We love you so much and miss you every day you are gone but enjoy every minute you are with us!
